Hertz New Zealand offers a large selection of carefully maintained, late model vehicles to suit any occasion, from economical round-town runabouts to four wheel drives, people movers and luxury models, all at competitive rates.

The world’s quickest and easiest way to rent a car. Just complete an enrolment agreement detailing your preferences and form of payment. Upon arrival at the Hertz rental counter, simply present your drivers license and drive away without any hassles. Membership is free.

24-Hour Roadside Assistance is available with all Hertz vehicles. The telephone number can be found in your Hertz vehicle or in your rental agreement wallet.

First Aid Kits

Every Hertz vehicle now has its own sealed first aid kit. If you need to break the seal, this very handy kit is yours to take home for just $45 (price subject to change).

Free Telephone access to Medical Assistance

Hertz Medical Assist allows you to make one simple call for free medical advise, information and assistance around the clock, anywhere in New Zealand. Simply dial the Medical Assist 0800 number found on your Hertz rental keys, quote your Hertz car registration, and you’ll be through to a medical practitioner.

Free Maps & Discount Voucher Books

Free discount voucher books and a map of New Zealand is available at all Hertz branches. Free local city/town maps are also available at most branches.

Frequent Flyer Points

Optional Renter Protection Services

When renting with Hertz you are protected in the event of an accident. Most Hertz rates in New Zealand include Loss Damages Waiver (LDW) which provides cover for accident damage to the Hertz vehicle and/or Third Party Property (as long as you comply with the Rental Terms and Conditions). In the event of damage the Accident Damage Excess (ADE) will apply per incident regardless of fault. This is the amount you contribute towards the loss or damage to the Hertz vehicle and/or Third Party Property. Hertz New Zealand offers you the option to reduce the ADE by purchasing Accident Excess Reduction (AER).

For the highest level of protection Hertz offers and optional inclusive Renter Protection Package (PKG) which combines AER with benefits of Personal Accident Insurance (PAI) and Personal Effects Cover (PEC).
