Formosa golf course is surrounded by lush farmland and is set against the stunning backdrop of the Hauraki Gulf. The course has panoramic views of Waiheke Island and Rangitoto from its clifftop and coastal fairways, along which hundreds of pohutukawa trees and palms have been planted.

The course is one of the longest courses in New Zealand at over 6600 metres (7200) yards from the professional tees. The course features the first Couch grass fairways in this country, providing a durable and attractive all year playing surface.

Designed by internationally renowned golfting professional, Bob Charles, the course features 18 holes of sensational golf and is modeled on the Augusta National, home of the US Masters. 16 of the 18 holes provide delightful water views and at over 190 hectares, is established on an area twice that of a usual golf club.
Venue for the 1998 New Zealand Open., Formosa is demanding enough for the skilled golfer, yet it is also suitable for a relaxed, friendly, or corporate challenge, and may be played year round.
Green Fees NZ$ 65-125
